Not sure I spelt the title correctly but who cares.

Since being blessed with UWO, this ol' pirate has come out of retirement and I figured I'd share some fond memories of SeaDogs, My crowning glories and my biggest blunders :P

Glory:

Taking down the fort of Isla Balena useing nothing more than a brig with 16lb cannons.

Sinking a Spanish Armada with a Fast Lineship.

and my all time favorite, which I think was my best. I set sail in a Tartana boat and got attacked by a pirates heavy Galleon....couldn't outrun them and ended up getting boarded. My miniscule crew of 10 bloodthirsty butchers succesfully won the fight despite being outnumbered 30 to 1.

But I disgress, it wasn't all glory, I made a few epic blunders too:

For example :

I was still new to the game and having a struggle with making enough money to support the ship and crew etc, and god knows I drooled over the big ships. I busted my ass to make enough money for a class 2 warship and finally I was able to buy a Fast Lineship......yeah, my very first real warship. I was so proud of myself and my new ship that when I set sail I was so busy rotating the camera around and admiring the ship that I didn't pay attention to where I was going and ended up running full speed ahead into the rocks outside Isle D'Orange.
As if that wasn't bad enough, I did it twice in a row and sunk the damned thing.
That was when I found out that I'd also forgotten to save.

Then there was the time when I took a Modernised Man O War to Isla Balena for an assault on the city, I carefully navigated my way through that little channel(which is pretty tricky on the bigger ships) and then carefully positioned the ship just out of range of the forts guns and started the attack. Just then, a Spanish Pink comes bimbling into the harbor,I laughed it off after all, I was sailing the biggest and most powerfull ship in the game, what did I care about this Gnat buzzing around with it's peashooters. I had much bigger fish to fry so I completely ignored the pink.
Right up untill the very large explosion that took me down to half hull strength and about 50 crew.
Then with my (now) extremely sluggish ship I made some very very veeeeery slow manuvers with the intention of hitting the spacebar and making the pink magicly dissapear...I went straight into the forts cannons. I think you can guess the rest.

There's probably a whole bunch more but cant think of them off the top of my head.

I was never able to do the fancy fighting in Seadogs. Couldn't feint or parry hardly at all.

My greatest moment was when I was sailing the little pink you first get and entered a battle with the caption "The English are fighting the Spanish" It was foggy and you could barely see the ships and what should appear before me but a Heavey Wargalleon with tattered sails and leaking like a seive. It only had 25 crew left. I boared it as a level 12 character and captured the thing. Like an idiot I changed ships. That gave me something like a -12 handling.

I kept the ship and worked my way up doing some carry trade and escort quest. Sailing a ship that slow was a real challenge in Sea Dogs. This is where the name "Glory Pig" come from because that ship handled like a pig. However I got enough XP for two or three levels from this.
