Sticking with Vista myself..at least for the time being. Maybe its just me, but Gateway and the windows packages that I order with the computer, or laptop have been problem-free right out of the box and have remained so. With that being said, I usually go by the 3 rule of thumb...meaning its usually not worth looking into updating the OS until the version I have is at least three generations of OS behind whatever is current and usually by that time, the technology has advanced to the point of getting a completely new hardware system.

I too prefere XP, I have never taken the jump to Vista I am pleased to say. I am hanging back on Win 7 as well. Doesn't support OE I understand, so I shall need a new e-mail vehicle. I store a lot of stuff in my OE. :-\ :-\

I also found out that some of the games that aren't working in Vista and Win 7 have nothing to do with the OS. Creeping around the internet, I found that some old games aren't programmed to work with multiple CPU's. For example, to get the Godfather game to work, I had to change the msconfig to boot with just one core of my quad-core CPU, and the thing runs fine. That game isn't that old, either.
I always wait until the OS starts crashing a lot befoer upgrading. Even though we all tout XP, that crashed on me a lot -- BUT I could always get it running again really easy. Vista was impossible to fix after a crash. I'm sure the future will determine how well Win 7 can be fixed after a crash, but for now I'm just enjoying a crash-free experience.
