Today bought new video card GeForce 6600GT ULTRA/1960 TV-DVI from Gainward for AGP. Originally I wanted to buy something more advanced but those high-end cards are too much expensive and I didnt want to spare so much money. I think better is to buy cheaper cards and exchange them more frequently, about once a 1,5 -2 years.
This card works really very well (so far). Because I have had GeForce 4200 Ti I neednt installed anything I had to only remove old card and attach the new one, do twice restart and it worked. I used Nvidia Omeaga drivers. But after that I tried the drivers from CD from Gainward and the card is working even better now. It has only 120MB but fast DDR3 RAM - 2 ns and cards bandwith is 14,4 Gb/s. But overclocked about 16 Gb/s. Software includes tweaking tool, so I oveclocked it immediatelly. The base frequency is 500/900 Mhz and I set up 540/980 Mhz without any problems. With my Ge Force 4200 Ti my result of 3D Mark 2003 was about 1280 points and with this GeForce 6600 GT about 7600 points. As you can see the improvement is quite significant. Because it seems to me this card will be trouble- free and the price (my price at our place transferrend to dollars) is 182 bucks, so I think I could recommend it to all. Here is the link for it.

Good luck with your new card brother Rad! I think I'll do with my GF FX5500 for quite a while. My nearest upgrade project involves retiring the faithful yet overaged and slow Quantum Fireball 13.9G UDMA/66 HDD with a 300G SATA Seagate one. 8) (Unfortunately they don't import Hitachi disks for desktp systems over here.)

I'm awaiting the upcoming Sea Dogs enthusiastically. For its side products (as they seem to me) though, I'm not sure. I'm waiting for the EB team to release a Beta of the mod before getting RTW and the promising expansion BI. Will probably reinstall MTW/VI and perhaps release our Modlet in its unfinished state.

Boiling Point, I know there's a thread about it, but I haven't read, and don't yet know what's it about. It will change though, since you asked. ;)
