Well guys, guess I am comming to the end of the road with my 'AMD Duron 850 Megs' Processer. I also need some more RAM, I only have 448 Megs of it.
:-< :-<

Oh, and I could do with a good sound card, not one with bells on nececerally..but a good one all the same. ???

Anyone up in this kind of thing please?? Would apreciate and guidence here.

My Mainboard is a 'Gigabite 7ZX 1.0' does any one know if it would take a bigger processer, without having to change the board??? ??? ???

Best regards t'ye all!

Ben, we discussed about sound card in the next post already. I think there isnt better solution this time than Sound Blaster Audigy II ZS. I bought it a month ago in favourable price about 83 US in OEM version with golden connectors. The sound is better than at Audigy I, the compatilbility with Win XP is better than in the case of Audigy I, there is a good equalizer which substantially improve the sound and so on. This is link to the card I just bought.

What about computer concerns I have some Asus motherboard with chipset KT600 and processor Athlon - Barton 2500 XP overclocked at this motheroborad at 3200 XP. This motherboard is a little older already. But all works quite good for me. But I have very good RAM 2 x500 MB Corsair and I think just for that reason my computer is very stable now. But maybe it would be better and more progressive to buy already a 64 bit Athlon system. As a video card I would recommend GeForce 6600 or 6800. I heard they are good and 6600 type cards arent much expensive. But you should be careful with those cards because as always there exist many variations of them here with different frequencies of memories which result in quite different performances. Not all what is the cheapest is the best. :)

And at the very end of my speculation if you have Duron 850 MHz, so your motherborad is probably old already. I suppose it doesnt support fast RAM with frequency 400 MHz. I would recommend to buy some new modern motherboard because it is the heart of all computer which you can use even several years (in my case about 2 years usually). I had several motherboards already and I must tell they are all the time more powerful, more stable and better. So far I always had MSI motherboards but they worked well only for some time and then spoiled. So, I would recommend some another good mark, for example ASUS or Gigabite or something similar. :)
